Anne CURRAN

(1878-1959)


Biographical Notes

Anne (aka Anna) was born on 7th June 1878 in the townland of Ternagreevagh, the daughter of George and Sarah Curran. She was one of twins, the other was James Lyons. The birth was registered on 22nd June 1878. The informant was Mary McKeown HerXMark.1

Anna is not recorded at her parents' home in the 1901 Census.2 There appears to be no other record of her in this Census.

She married Thomas ("Tommy") JACKSON in the First Presbyterian Church in Armagh on the 8th April 1909. The witnesses were Anna's brother George Otto (aka John George), and sister Florrie.3

In 1911 Census of Ireland, Anna now aged 31 and married for 2 years. and has a daughter, Anna Cecilia aged 1 year. The family live in Thomas Street, Armagh.4 (Note that Anna's age stated is incorrect. She was 32, so was aged 31 at the time of this census.)

Anna and Thomas had two children, Anna Cecilia (1909-1990) and Thomas George (1912-1988).5

Her husband, Tommy, died on 14th February 1928, from tuberculosis.5

After the death of Tommy, Anna married Robert DUKE (b.1883). There was no offsring from this marriage.5

Anna died on 17th January 1959, and is buried beside her first husband in the First Presbyterian Church Graveyard, Keady Road, Armagh.5
