Edmund Lamb WALLIS

The following is from Who's Who in Herefordshire", Page 135, published by Wilson & Phillips, Hereford, 1933:

WALLIS, Edmund Lamb, J.P. Solicitor. The Firs, Hampton Park, Hereford.
Born 1849, at Finedon, Northamptonshire, of Yeoman stock.
Educated at Grammar School, Wellingborough.
Married 1879, Mary, daughter of the late Revd. Thomas Lloyd, of Slepe Hall, St. Ives, Hunts.
Member and Alderman of the City Council, first elected, 1883; Mayor, 1911-1912. Honorary Freeman of the City. Member of the First County Council. Elected County Alderman. Retired 1917. Coroner for South Herefordshire. Conservator of the River Wye.
A lover of children and of books.

ELW died on 1st August 1940. and is burried in Tupsley Churchyard, Hereford.
